While providing food remains the most significant role of the Mission, its services have expanded through the years to include clothing, furniture, household items, and financial assistance.
Serving Those In Need Since 2001
With spiritual inspiration and the support of area churches, Oak Mountain Mission Ministries was formed by Mr. Roddy Cooper and chartered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2001. In its early years, the Mission served others from Roddy's garage and mini warehouse. As the need for support grew, the Mission expanded and served clients from a facility in Riverchase. In March, 2009 the Mission moved to its present 10,000 square foot facility in Pelham which allowed it to increase both the number of people and types of support it could provide. The facility has refrigeration and a pantry for food, rooms for clothing selection, warehouse, and prayer room. While providing food remains the most significant role of the Mission, its services have expanded through the years to include clothing, furniture, household items, and financial assistance.
Thanks to more than 300 volunteers and generous support, the Mission serves individuals referred from various agencies and faith support churches in Shelby and Jefferson Counties. With your prayers and commitment, the Mission will continue to help spread Christ's love to others.

Your Generosity Sustains Us
Oak Mountain Mission Ministries is funded by faith support churches, grants, donations, and proceeds from the Harvest of Hope Luncheon and Silent Auction. This support has allowed the Mission to fund freezers and refrigerators to safely store more fresh and a greater variety of foods, purchase trucks for pick-up and delivery, maintain a facility to serve families more than 6,000 times yearly, and provide essential services to those who need our compassion. Thank you for sustaining the Mission with your support and prayers.
